Description
Kim has been a practicing pharmacist since 1981. His experience spans a variety of practice settings. He is a cum laude graduate of St. John's University in New York City. He started at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan where he received initial training in prescription compounding (customized preparation of medicines not commercially available) and has maintained this specialty as a cornerstone of his current practice. He receives ongoing training through his affiliation with Professional Compounding Centers of America. Other practice sites include Bellevue Hospital, Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Kim also has technical experience as a computer programmer. He worked for 12 years developing health related software for large institutional facilities and has authored software for pharmacy applications, dietary, durable medical equipment, patient chartkeeping, and individual service planning. He is one of less than 1000 full fellows of the American College of Apothecaries and one of less than 100 fellows of the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists. Kim has received special training in anticoagulation therapy, biotechnology drugs, asthma and respiratory conditions (certified by the American Lung Association), hyperlipidemias (certified by the American Pharmaceutical Association), and osteoporosis (certified by the American Pharmaceutical Association). He is an adjunct faculty member for the Albany College of Pharmacy.
Dr. English is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy. She has completed specialty training in nutrition, home care, oncology, and pediatrics and has served clinical rotations at F.F. Thompson Hospital, The University of Rochester Hospital, and at various locations in the Albany area. She is a recipient of the Facts & Comparisons Award for Excellence and has experience in designing patient education programs for diabetics. Dr. English has worked at The Medicine Shoppe throughout her schooling and will be developing a variety of patient related education and disease management programs in years to come.
