MELORANI Safaries - Melorani Home

Description

Melorani is a privately owned and run reserve that has been in the family for almost a century. It is now reserved exclusively for the bowhunter and lies in the fertile valley between the Enselsberg and Dwarsberg hills, three hours drive north west of Johannesburg.

The veld is predominantly sweet thornveld with open vleis and thickly wooded areas. The diversity of habitats allow for the exceptional variety of species that occur naturally in the area. These include, amongst others, buffalo, white rhino, sable antelope, kudu, nyala, zebra, giraffe, eland, gemsbuck, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest and waterbuck aplenty.

We allow only 25 privileged hunters a year on Melorani. This is to ensure top quality trophy animals on a sustainable basis as well as personalized service second to none. It is no coincidence that we were finalists for the PHASA Trophy of The Year Award in 1999 with a magnificent 64" kudu shot by Larry. D. Jones and that in 2001 we won this prestigeous award with a 17 1/4" common reedbuck taken by Mark Dickson from Shreveport. This is the most competed for award in the Professional Hunters Association and it is handed out annually at the gala banquet.
