Micah Lexier is a Canadian artist and curator presently living in New York. As an artist Micah Lexier has worked with a wide range of materials including laser-cut steel, waterjet-cut aluminum, glass, wood, coins, fabric, drawing, photography, neon, printmaking, holography, sound, and letterpress. Micah Lexier has produced numerous bookworks, projects for magazines and multiples. Micah Lexier is most know for his A Minute of My Time series and his photographic projects A Portrait of David and David Then & Now. Micah Lexier has produced a dozen public art commissions including Wins/Losses/Ties for the Air Canada Center, Toronto; Ampersand for the Sheppard Leslie Subway Station, Toronto: Selections for the Synopsis of Categories for Metro Hall, Toronto; The Hall of Names for the Direct Energy Centre at the Exhibition Place, Toronto: and A Portrait of My Grandfather for Scurfield Hall at the University of Calgary. Micah Lexier has artwork in numerous private and public collections including The National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; The Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; The Jewish Museum, New York; The British Museum, London; and the Contemporary Art Gallery, Sydney. Micah Lexier is the visual arts editor for Bloom Magazine, published in New York City. He is also the editor, with Dan Lander, of Sound By Artists, published in 1990 by Art Metropole, Toronto and the Walter Phillips Gallery, Banff. Micah Lexier has curated a number of exhibitions including the For Example series for the MSVU Art Gallery in Halifax; Me & Them for the College Building Art Galleries at the University of Saskatchewan; and the three-person exhibition David Altmejd/Eric Cameron/Renate Anger for Birch Libralato, Toronto.
