The Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee (MSPC), also known as the soybean checkoff, came into existence via P.A. 232 in 1976. The National Checkoff, United Soybean Board, began in 1991. The seven director board is appointed by the Michigan Governor. Each director is appointed for a three-year term and may serve two consecutive terms.
