The MidWeek The MidWeek is a part of Northern Illinois Publishing, which is a division of Shaw Newspapers, Inc. Shaw, Inc is the sixth owner of the weekly newspaper. The MidWeek is in its 41st year in 2008. Although it began as an advertising "shopper," originally called the Citizen Shopping News, The MidWeek has been a full-fledged newspaper since 1979. It is a free newspaper, delivered to 31,000 homes throughout DeKalb County, each Wednesday by carrier and the U.S. Mail.
