Mini-Things Scale Models (by Fred loosbrock) offers custom model railroad layout design & construction in Z, N, TT, HO, S, O & G scales and produces model railroad accessories in many scales for the detail-oriented modeller. We also offer scale model and miniature landscape construction, silicone mold making, resin casting, toy train repair, train and plastic model value estimates.
Fred has been involved with model railroad design and construction and custom model building for over 15 years (see some of my projects at http://www.mini-things.com). In 2010 we (my dad and I) decided to open a train store in Overland Park, KS (Kansas City metro area). Several train/hobby stores in the Kansas City area had closed or relocated over the past few years and we saw a need for a train store that would offer products in all scales (Z-G) and that would also be an information resource for area hobbyists.
We opened Fred's Train Shop (http://www.fredstrainshop.com) in June of 2010 and are very pleased with the response. Even in a down economy we have been growing and developing a number of loyal customers. We are an authorized Lionel, MTH and Marklin dealer and also an authorized repair station for Lionel and MTH trains. Currently, Fred's Train Shop is the only store in Kansas City carrying all scales (Z-G) of trains, accessories, track and related items.
The experience gained in 15+ years of model railroad construction has translated into knowledgeable customer service for our patrons. The products developed by Mini-Things as well as on-going layout construction can be seen at Fred's Train Shop during regular business hours.
