Therapeutic Herbalism encourages you to take responsibility in playing an active role in maintaining and healing your body. This may include developing a deeper understanding of your life processes. Illness may be seen as an instrument or tool that awakens you to such an understanding.
Jennifer Costa-Blickstein is an Herbalist, Environmental Biologist, EMT, Midwife Assistant, and Founder of Monarda Herbal Apothecary. She enjoys her husband and three sons while tucked in the Catskill Mountains and serves her community with her love of the Earth through environmental awareness and health related workshops, herbal internships, private consulting, apothecary managing, and nurturing Monarda's medicine gardens as they change and grow.
The herbal world offers gentle strength to you on many levels as you awaken to the multifaceted purpose of many health conditions, be they acute or chronic. Many are remembering the power of a simple green plant to nourish, heal and support. We celebrate and hold a deep respect for the beauty, balance, diversity and wisdom of our natural world. All herbs are grown organically, harvested in the wild (wildcrafted), or obtained from small growers and skilled wildcrafters also committed to nurturing the soil, preserving wild plant populations, and harvesting only healthy, abundant plants at the time when the energy, or life force, is concentrated in the part of the plant being used medicinally. Fresh plant material is used in our extracts and infused oils. We use Certified Organic Grain and Grape Alcohol and cold-pressed, unrefined vegetable oils in all preparations. Dried material is used in those cases where fresh is unavailable or where dried is needed for optimum extraction. Healing intention is infused in every step from planting until the preparations are ready for use. This hands-on labor intensive process ensures that every product is the highest of quality.
