This is the website of artist Michael Seth Shipman.
The main feature is a series of galleries of artworks called "The Gold in the Modern-Day Spirit of Old". It consists of a sequence of six galleries of paintings and drawings that bring to life the contrast between the pure gold and the forged ring in a pictorial epic cycle influenced by nordic legends and the river Rhine. The exhibition is complemented by written commentaries and short art videos. It is also available in German and Spanish.
The exhibition "The Mold of Clay" is a set of clay relief sculptures that complements "The Gold" in its ideas.
In addition, visitors may link to an exhibition entitled "Visions and Voices", that was exhibited at the Arizona State Museum in Tucson in 1998 and the Carnegie Library and Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix in 1999. This is a series of portraits of native Americans presented as a living and integral part of our modern nation. It is supplemented by quotations by the participants, describing their feelings of identity in a modern society.
