In 2006, Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre Company celebrates its 10th Anniversary of bringing professional theatre performances to East Multnomah County. Over the years, we have gained a reputation for high-quality professional productions of both classic and contemporary plays. The Rep’s mainstay is our annual American Classics Theatre Festival, which features classic plays often not seen in the Portland-area. Past American Classic Festivals have included A Thurber Carnival, The Man Who Came To Dinner, Huckleberry Finn, Inherit the Wind, Born Yesterday, and The Front Page. All these large cast plays used a mix of professionals, students, and members of the community.
The American Classics Theatre Festival also features more intimate plays such as Talley’s Folly, Talking With, An Evening with H.L. Mencken, Clarence Darrow, and even a Native American play - Walking On Turtle Island.
Another popular Festival offering is our return to the golden era of radio with our Sunday Night By The Philco series.
