Description
Many independent bottling companies bottle a huge variety of malts simply because they exist and are available for bottling – regardless of quality. A cynic may say that many are aimed primarily at the collector’s market. Our policy is to have a concise range of top quality bottlings only from distilleries that make great spirit (not all do) – for drinking enjoyment, not just for looking at.
While MMCD is a small, young company, it was created by true malt whisky enthusiasts. We have 100 years of experience with quality whiskies to call on - Jim McEwan accounts for 40 of them. As well as several generations of whisky experience, combined with forward thinking, we are unencumbered by large, corporate and commercial attitudes, allowing us to practice what we really believe.
Each whisky considered for bottling is carefully tasted by all company directors, and only accepted for bottling if they all agree that it merits the Murray McDavid label. There is no compromise in quality - despite reputation - we only bottle what we like not just whatever is around.
