Description
Maricopa Women in Business (MWIB) was founded in July of 2005 by Christine Freeman, Maricopa resident, after several months of planning with other founding members. The original intent of the group was to create an opportunity for entrepreneurial female business owners in the growing city of Maricopa to have the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and support the community. This intent is being realized by our current members.
MWIB holds monthly meetings. Members discuss current business trends and laws, what type of advertising works in the community, and upcoming community activities to support, among other topics. Though members are not required to do so, we often patronize each others’ businesses in a show of support, and provide each other with referrals. The group’s mission statement is as follows:
Maricopa Women in Business is a nonprofit group. Our mission is to support the Maricopa community through group volunteerism and community service in order to make a positive impact on this growing region, while professionally helping each other to build our individual businesses through networking and the sharing of information and ideas.
