My Sister My Friend was formed out of a need in the African American community and is dedicated to assisting women diagnosed with breast cancer; primarily the under-served and uninsured. Our Role is to foster a nurturing support system in an atmosphere conducive to Wholeness and Well-being: Providing a host of links by way of support, advocacy, education and a network of available resources. Our Goal is to eradicate breast cancer, as well it's associated myths; to avail resources, promote research, clinical trials as well as educate the community on breast health and the benefits of Early Detection.
My Sister My Friend Breast Cancer Support is a Survivor run, non-profit organization with links to the American Cancer Society, LA Breast Cancer Alliance, Breast Friends, Breast Cancer Angels and various other organizations, along with medical care professionals in our collaborative efforts of supporting survival. My Sister My Friend BCS facilitates monthly support group meetings and hosts various workshops, seminars and symposiums throughout Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
Our History- My Sister My Friend was formed 2005 by Founder Antionette Greer, who's choice Board of Directors speak to their experienced endeavors as Survivors (Happy Johnson, Lillian Covington, & Ellen Greer) All of who originally lead an affiliate chapter of a National Breast Cancer Suvivorship Organization in the year 2004. Understanding the needs of the community and culpability these women persevered to began yet another victorious quest throughout the community spear heading projects such as:
