There had been some misinformation about NAME-SERVICES.COM here suggesting that it is perhaps connected to spam. Certainly it's not.
First of all, from a world wide web standpoint, NAME-SERVICES.COM is just a parked domain - it has no distinct content. It's got the same placeholder content which you'd see at any other in-hiatus domain's web site.
Now the primary purpose of the NAME-SERVICES.COM domain has nothing to do with the web site which happens displayed at http://NAME-SERVICES.COM/, but then again it does.
NAME-SERVICES.COM is operated by eNom which is a major domain name registrar. The main service which NAME-SERVICES.COM provides is DNS service. When a domain which had been registered with eNom expires and control of it is seized by eNom, eNom delegates authority of that domain to the NAME-SERVICES.COM DNS servers. Those are not legitimate DNS servers - they just respond to each and every request you throw at them (whether you're looking for an eNom "parked" domain or whether you're looking for the A record for www.whitehouse.gov) with an IP address of a domain parking web server - a web server which spits up nothing but the junk generic ad/link stuff that we're all used to seeing for domains which are in limbo.
In short, NAME-SERVICES.COM primarily provides the DNS machinery underneath junk domains - in particular ones which are under eNom control due to having expired there. eNom uses this "parking" procedure to gauge how much WWW traffic an expired domain is attracting. This information helps eNom gauge what kind of value the domain might have. eNom also benefits from any advertising/click revenue which comes its way as a result of clicks on the junk pages.

Is there some way I can get my domain (sk8rland.com) back from you, will it be released after the year is up, or do you just keep it as long as you make your $5/year off it? - Jay Valatka (frustrated) : This domain name was included in what appears to be a spam message, purporting to be concerned with a domain name I own and stating they are "required" by ICANN to send me the message.
