About the Gallery

The Nathan McClain Gallery opened online to the public on August 6 2003, nearly six years after the death of the artist from whom it takes its name. The opening day was chosen to commemorate what would have been McClain's 30th birthday. Since opening, the Gallery has welcomed more than 80,000 visitors from all over the world.

One of the most affecting artists of the late 20th century, Nathan McClain (1973-1997) created imagery that is instantly recognizable as his own. The Gallery's collection of over 100 McClain paintings, watercolors, illustrations, and drawings is the largest in the world dating from 1977 to 1997. McClain's images include large-scale murals, portraits, reproductions, and imaginative originals. Throughout the year, visitors can see an entire exhibition of these works online at www.natemcclain.com.

In addition to the virtual exhibit, the Gallery presents special events that are devoted to selections of McClain's work. These events hold special significance since the majority of McClain's priceless works are privately owned and public viewings are extremely rare. To provide the public with McClain's artwork in printed format, the Gallery Shop contains merchandise of McClain's art for purchase.
