Overview

During recent years, we have helped states, districts, and schools meet the challenges presented by the No Child Left Behind Act using a mix of professional development, strategies, and resources.

We believe that improvement of the educational system to meet the needs of all children requires a strong research base that is tightly linked to practice. To connect research and practice, SEDL partners with educators, administrators, parents, and policymakers to conduct research and development projects that result in strategies and resources to improve teaching and learning. SEDL also helps partners and clients bridge the gap between research and practice with professional development, technical assistance, and information services tailored to meet their needs.

Nationwide Research, Development, and Dissemination

Along with nine other regional educational laboratories (RELs), SEDL forms a national REL network that helps ensure those involved in educational improvement at the local, state, and regional levels have access to the best available information from research and practice.
