What is the Center? The N.C. Center for Nonprofits is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a statewide network for nonprofit boards and staffs, an information center on effective organizational practices, and an advocate for the nonprofit sector as a whole. We offer services directly to all sizes and types of 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and we work closely with other local, state and national groups that assist nonprofits.
Concerned about the increasing challenges they faced, nonprofit leaders across the state founded the Center in 1990. More than 2,000 nonprofit practitioners from all 100 counties gave grassroots input to determine our goals. More than 1,500 organizations have joined this coalition of nonprofits working together for a better North Carolina.
To serve as an advocate on issues that affect the capacity of all 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the state to address their communities' needs.
