Title

Newtown Newcomers and Neighbors Club

Description

Newtown is one of the largest communities in the state of Connecticut with more than 60 square miles lying within its borders. It is one of the most unique and distinguished communities in the state. The townspeople are justly proud of the town's history and folklore, and continue to make Newtown a good place to live through their active civic, social and fraternal organizations. Nature has certainly played a large part in creating Newtown 's unique appeal. The town's north and east borders are carved by the Housatonic River and the Shepaug River, both of which flow into Lake Lillinonah, providing excellent boating facilities and opportunities for other aquatic pursuits. Along these shores is the Paugusset State Forest which adds an air of serenity and quiet, as well as providing clean air.

If you are New in Newtown, experiencing a lifestyle change like a new marriage or divorce, pregnancy or just retired or you are interested in trying something new, come to one of our social events and learn how you can meet new friends and get involved in our community.

The Newtown Newcomers and Neighbors Club, Inc., was established in June 1995. The club was previously The Welcome Wagon Club of Newtown. The name change was made in order to reflect our comitment to all Newtown residents and to provide more fundraising opportunities. Our social and educational activities, as well as, our community concerns have not changed. Membership is open to (but not limited to) anyone involved in a lifestyle change: new to town; change in residence; engaged; married or divorced; pregnant; new parents; recent retirees; or any other lifestyle change. Annual dues are $30 per family for the full year, entitling anyone in the family to participate in activities, social events and meetings, as well as, to receive monthly newsletters and the annual directory. Half-year memberships for $20 are available if you choose to join the club between January and May. The club year runs from July through June. Contact Kiplyn or Tanya today.
