New Hampshire Recruitment Center

Description edit

The Recruitment Center focuses on attracting health care providers to the medically-underserved areas of New Hampshire. We link physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and midwives with community health centers, private practices, hospital-supported practices or HMOs. These opportunities exist in urban settings in central and southern regions of the state, in rural communities located in the north country area (which is noted for its mountains, lakes and streams), in picturesque small towns along the Connecticut River, and in historic communities on the Atlantic Ocean.

The New Hampshire Recruitment Center was established in 1994 by Bi-State Primary Care Association, a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Concord, NH that represents a cross section of community-based health organizations providing and/or supporting primary care services to citizens in Vermont and New Hampshire. The principal mission of Bi-State Primary Care Association is to foster the delivery of primary care health services to medically underserved and geographically, culturally and linguistically isolated persons in these two states. The Association founded the Recruitment Center to assist primary-care practitioners in identifying opportunities in New Hampshire. Funding for the establishment of the Recruitment Center has been provided by the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with on-going funding from the state. The Center is supported by the New Hampshire Medical Society, Nurse Practitioner Association, Society of Physician Assistants, and the Hospital Association.
