In early 2003, a few journalists got together to create a new type of Nintendo site which, while professional, offered a unique look at the world of Nintendo. But as you can imagine, a site requires a large amount of time and attention to be executed properly. One of the first goals of Nintendo Insider was to create a uniform and ethical site. Too many sites at the time were constantly changing their methods and opinions on a variety of topics. How should reviews be written? What should the review system be? How should our staff structure be set up? How should news be done? As you can probably relate to, it's confusing when sites change up their review systems constantly, and the reasons behind change is not always clear. Were the original methods used for writing articles wrong and improper, or did the site just want a change in pace? And how are the new changes made to the site better than before? It quickly became important to the group of journalists that it would be best to have a clear, solid plan for procedures, and have reasons behind what they do, from the start.
A series of discussions began, many of which carried on through the site's beta period, about what our site should be like and why. The result is Nintendo Insider, a site opening up on April 2nd to serve visitors full time with in-depth and objective reviews, hands-on previews, exclusive interviews, interesting news and informative editorials and features in a uniform and ethical way. You're probably interested in what our site is all about and why we do what we do, which is exactly why this site information and history document has been written. We hope you'll read what we have to say and analyze what we've said yourself.
