Title edit
Serving the municipalities of the Land of Enchantment
Description edit
The New Mexico Municipal League is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association whose member cities comprise 100% of the State's 102 incorporated municipalities. Its largest member has 10,000 times the population of its smallest, yet each member city casts one delegate vote in setting policy and electing officers at the Annual Conference.
The League Board of Directors consists of 26 municipal officials elected by the membership and 10 ex officio subsection presidents. Day-to-day activities and the policies established by the Board and policy committees are carried out by a full-time executive director and a 25 member staff.
Individual service to member municipalities on a day-to-day basis is one of the most important functions of the League. These services include research to help local officials make decisions in the performance of their many duties; legal opinions from the League's legal staff; publication of the League's monthly newsletter, and weekly legislative bulletins when the legislature is in session. The League publishes booklets and information bulletins to better enable officials and personnel perform their duties. In addition, the League has filed briefs in court cases affecting our cities and towns. League staff and officers frequently appear before state agencies and legislative committees to testify on rules, regulations, and proposed legislation affecting our members. More information on these services may be obtained by following the links below.
