NOEX is one of the largest oil and gas exploration and development companies in Japan with operations in Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom North Sea. We place our strategic emphasis on four core areas; Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom North Sea, the United States Gulf of Mexico, and Australia. Headquartered in Tokyo, we employ about 420 people including 5 overseas offices; London, Houston, Vung Tau (Vietnam), Kuala Lumpur and Miri (Malaysia).
We have operated the Offshore Block 15-2 (Rang Dong oil field) in Vietnam since 1992, the Offshore Sarawak Block SK-10 (Helang gas field) in Malaysia since 1987 and multiple projects in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico since 1994.
In 2004, we had an average production of 110,000BOED (66,000), attaining net sales of $650 million (575), and operating income of $260 million (220)(Figures in 2003 are shown in the blanket). In our 2nd Medium-Term Plan (2002-2004), our aim was to boost production from 50,000BOED to 150,000BOED. We achieved this goal by March 2005 with a combination of commercial production in offshore Sarawak, Australia’s North West Shelf and also the purchase of producing assets in the UK North Sea etc.
