About Norm

Norm Miller was elected to represent the riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka in a by-election on March 22, 2001, and was re-elected in the general election held in October 2003. Until August 2005, Norm was the Opposition Critic for the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines. He now holds the Critic Portfolio for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Aboriginal Affairs and is a member of the Standing Committee on the Legislative Assembly.

From April 2002 to September 2003, Norm was the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Northern Development and Mines. He also served as Vice-Chair of the General Government Committee, Commissioner of the Red Tape Secretariat, member of the Estimates Committee, and sat on the Cabinet Committee for Economic and Resource Policy.

Born in 1956, Norm is the third of four children to Ann and the late Frank Miller, former Muskoka M.P.P. and Ontario Premier. Norm learned the value of hard work and the importance of family growing up and working in the resort business.
