Freeview is a UK digital television service, received through rooftop or indoor aerials. There are no subscription charges for Freeview, but in order to decode the digital transmission you must own either a Freeview compatible set-top box or a television with a built in Freeview tuner. After North Devon's digital switchover, analogue transmissions were ceased and Freeview became the region's only free television service available through a rooftop aerial.
