- Watkin Hughes founded North Park. In 1946, “Watty” rented a small space in the back of Johnson’s Feed Store (yes, there actually was a feed store on Aurora). With two employees, Watty proceeded to serve the heating needs of the local area. By 1966, when we moved to our present location, Watty had 28 employees and had expanded our service area to include Seattle and most of King and Snohomish Counties.
