Your host, guide and the owner, Mitch Bangert, has 26 years experience exploring and fishing the Platte River Valley. 12 years ago he found his home in Saratoga that is now his client’s base for their fishing excursions.
In the early 90's Mitch was the head guide for one of Alaska’s premier fly-out lodges and often spends his winters in New Zealand chasing the South Island’s wary Rainbows and Browns.
When not fishing Mitch and his Lab can be found bird hunting from South Dakota to Mississippi or climbing 14ers in the various Colorado ranges.
Well known for his love of teaching Mitch's knowledge of the trout, the bugs they eat, and how to present them to the fish is unsurpassed. You're sure to leave with new found skills you will use anywhere you travel to chase our finned friends.
Mitch’s experience, combined with the abundance of water to fish, leaves little to chance and much to enjoy and look forward to!
Additional Information
The guest house is located right on the banks of the North Platte River, where there’s rarely a day trout aren’t rising out front! Blessed with an incredible variety of wildlife, ducks, geese, osprey, bald and golden eagles, deer, moose, coyotes and river otters to name some! You’re provided with a wonderful base camp from which to relax between starting and ending your days activities with us.
The 3-bedroom, 2-bath ranch style home has a large sunken living room with a fireplace, is outfitted with large picture windows throughout and its fully outfitted kitchen is for your use and convenience. The 30' deck facing the river is surrounded by large, mature cottonwoods and a grill is provided for your evening barbeques. We also provide unlimited Internet access and long distance phone calls at no extra charge. If you want a break from cooking, visit historic downtown Saratoga and it’s fine eateries - only a three-minute walk.
So come out west and enjoy some time with us, fish with our guide service, have our chef cook for you or do your own self guided tour. You won't find accommodations with a better location in Saratoga, Wyoming.
