- Yesterday I started getting a migraine and didn't have my prescription with me. I think I'm in denial, or superstitious—as if, if I don't carry it with me, I won't need it. So I decided to take two ibuprofen every four hours until I got home and see if that would help. I also tried hand massage, which I don't know much about except that it can supposedly, occasionally, relieve headaches, on alternating Tuesdays if the moon is waning, etc. Every time I took the ibuprofen my headache receded slightly. It nagged me throughout the day but never got really bad. I decided to go home and take my prescription before going to the gym, but when I got there I found I didn't have my house keys—d'oh! I could not get hold of Tom so I went on to the gym, feeling glad that at least I'd taken the ibuprofen at 5:00 before leaving the office.
