Nobody's Fool: Food Notes and Stories

Description

Nobody's Fool is a newsletter, published four times a year, devoted to telling stories about food and people, including the farmer, the family cook, and everyone in between. Each issue has one long essay, along with one or two shorter essays, recipes, and book suggestions. Please visit the excerpts section to get an idea of what it's like.

I often wake up thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner that night. After five years cooking professionally, I went back to my former career in graphic design—had to pay the bills! I couldn't really leave the food world, though, so Nobody's Fool was born. I spend so much time thinking and talking about food, not to mention cooking and eating, that I have a lot to write about. Plus, if I can make a living doing this, it justifies spending all those years getting a literature degree. email

When Malika asked me to take pictures for Nobody's Fool, I thought it would be really easy. As it turns out, capturing the feeling of Malika's writing in a photograph is hard. Her stories are so warm and wonderful that making one or two images to describe that feeling is quite difficult. But, I like a challenge. Before I met Malika I was not interested in food at all; I ate whatever I could make in ten minutes. She changed the way I look at food and its importance in our everyday lives. Enjoy her stories, my photos and your food! email
