Ntrc.gov - Government-sponsored transportation research laboratory
Title
National Transportation Research Center (NTRC)
Description
The National Transportation Research Center is a window to transportation research programs at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee. It offers one of the most diverse concentrations of transportation researchers in the United States.
The NTRC held its official “Open House” on May 6-7, 2002, in collaboration with a transportation manufacturers workshop hosted by the High Temperature Materials Laboratory.
The Center is an alliance among ORNL, UT, the U.S. Department of Energy, UT-Battelle, LLC., NTRC, Inc., and the Development Corporation of Knox County. UT has one of the oldest university-based transportation R&D centers in the country, and ORNL has the largest multidisciplinary collection of transportation researchers among the DOE national laboratories.
