Description
Ohana Woods was established in 1986 by wood designer, Patrick Coito, Sr. We are located in the town of Honoka`a on the Hamakua Heritage Coast on the Big Island of Hawai`i. Our original work included Koa, Milo, and Norfolk pine. Later, we expanded our designs to include several other types of local woods to meet particular needs of our clients.
The range of woods we use offers a variety of colors, grains, and textures. Each bowl is dipped in mineral oil, so there is no toxic finish on it. Each item is inspected for quality and craftsmenship prior to becoming available to the public. All of our bowls have a natural finish and can be used as show pieces or as functional servers for salads, nuts, candies, and other items.
Some of our hard to find creations are considered collector's items. In addition to our popular calabash bowls, covered bowls, natural edge bowls, poi pounders, and turkey calls, our products continue to evolve. You can expect a host of other fine wood products by re-visiting this web site from time to time. (Or, bookmark it!)
