Dr. Obermair was born and raised in Austria and completed Vienna Medical School in Austria in 1990 with a Thesis "The Implementation of a Computer-based Gynecologic Oncologic Follow-up System". He commenced his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Vienna, Austria in 1994. Dr. Obermair moved to Australia in 2000 to undergo subspecialist training in Gynaecological Oncology and he successfully completed this training in 2002. He was granted the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2002.
He has been appointed to the position of Director of Research Gynaecological Oncology and Staff Specialist Gynaecological Oncologist at the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland and he is accredited as a Gynaecological Oncologist at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Dr. Obermair also holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor in Gynaecology & Obstetrics at the University of Vienna, Austria.
