Brendan Smith, owner of Oberon Design, founded his company after two decades of leatherwork beginning in 1967. During that time he made and sold hats, sandals, shoes, slippers and handbags, appliquéd vests and leather character masks.
Brendan began Oberon Design in 1992 and based his new company on the creation of embossed leather journal covers, still immensely popular across the country more than a decade later.
In 1999 he created a pewter casting shop as a part of the leather studio and Oberon began hand casting journal button closures, expanding into the production of bookmarks, barrettes and pewter jewelry.
