edit Observe and Report
Security officers are an integral part of modern society. We see them everyday yet know very little about them. Media stereotyping has much to do with what we think we know, but we really have a lot to learn. In Observe and Report, Michael Oden gives us an intimate portrait of what exactly defines a security officer and what it's really like living (and protecting) life behind the badge.
edit What You'll Learn
Through an extensive collection of real-life stories, you'll learn an incredible amount of information that only an insider can provide. You'll become familiar with all types of security and the duties involved including weapons training, internal investigations, and interrogations. You'll also discover that security officers are frequently involved in unexpected situations and are required to use split-second decision making.
| “ | We need to look inside the lives of the men and women who work these amazing jobs and hear in their own words what it’s like to do what they do, so that the next time you see a security officer, as you walk to your car in the middle of the night, you just may decide to say, “Thank you.” | ” |
| “ | Through their words, you’ll hear about the drama, excitement, humor, horror, and, boredom, of working as a security officer. | ” |
Observe and Report is not a manual to brush up on your security skills, but an exposé of stories recounted by men and women that Michael himself has worked with. This book is the first of its kind, and as such, it is designed to entertain and educate. Professionals in the field and those interested in learning more about security will find equal enjoyment from what Michael has to say.
