Co-founder Fabrice Grinda was running a mobile media company until 2004 as its founder. Called Zinga, the company was one of the major service providers in Argentina, Brazil, United States, Mexico and other countries. The company was worth $4 million, and Grinda made himself enough leverage to fund his current status as the part-owner of OLX.
Along with Alex Oxenford, Grinda was able to establish the next generation of classifieds, which could cater to almost everyone in urban regions of the Americas and South Asia. By 2006, OLX.com was already an award-winning website. It had established unprecedented connectivity between America, Asia and Europe to some extent.
By 2009 March, one could find OLX in nearly 100 independent countries. It also became widely used by masses because pages became available in more than 40 local languages. By visiting an OLX page in a particular region, one is able to use at least 10 neighboring languages.
OLX had major bouts of success after this period, when in 2011 it became one of the most prominent award winners in New York. By 2010, amNY (a New York business magazine) had OLX as one of the top ten startup businesses in the city, while New York remains an acid test for entrepreneurs by popular opinion.
