Description
After the senseless loss of my wife of twenty-four years, I became very bitter and angry with God. My life became meaningless. I began to fill the vacancy with anything that would bring me pleasure without regard as to what was sin and what was Christ-like. As the years passed, I began to feel like the "Prodigal son" and wanting to return to my heavenly Father. I felt that my prayers weren't going any higher than my head. I felt alone and ashamed. I started reading books on the subject of prayer. In fact, over a period of two months, I read twenty-six. However, not one of them told me HOW to pray.
I began an in-depth study of God's Word. I am convinced that the more you read of His Word, the more you are going to know Him and the more you know Him, the more your going to read His word. Instead of asking for physical things, I began to ask for wisdom, understanding, and mercy. Before long, I had written nearly two hundred pages of notes and scripture. Many Bible verses previously read without understanding were now feeding me. Joy returned, and God's grace brought me into a very close, daily walk with Him.
I shared the notes with several new Christian friends, who suggested I organize and write them in book form. The work was published and all of the proceeds go to missions. I have been incredibly blessed. My prayer for you is to realize the importance of daily study, and communication with our Father. As you read His Word, you will learn of His grace and "who you are" will fall in place.
