Opera Rara, the brainchild of Patric Schmid and Don White has been in the business of bringing back forgotten operatic repertoire of the nineteenth century for the last thirty-five years. Operas once threatened with extinction have now been brought vividly back to life through the Opera Rara recordings.
It is with deep regret that the Directors and staff of Opera Rara announce the death of it's founder and Artistic Director, Patric Schmid. Patric was taken ill during the pre-concert talk ahead of the concert performance of 'Il diluvio universale' on Sunday 6th November 2005 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
