Oscarwatch was started in 1999 by Sasha Stone, who is its main content provider, along with Bob Burns. Oscarwatch is not affiliated with any other site, least of all the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, better known as AMPAS.
Unlike most Oscar sites, Oscarwatch, aside from what goes on in the forums, does not predict Oscar winners until most have been seen and reviewed by critics and the public. We prefer, instead, to report it as it plods along. The watch starts at the beginning of the year and barrels on through to the bitter end, and remember, it ain't over until the girl from a trailer park with a dream thanks her best friend and publicist.
