OSSP: Welcome!

OSSP is a fully non-profit Open Source Software project, founded by Ralf S. Engelschall in 1998. The goal is the implementation of high-quality Unix software components, ranging from networking, multi-threading and algorithmic libraries to networking servers and development tools.

OSSP itself actually can be considered a meta-project, consisting of numerous projects. Each project is a solution to a particular problem and usually released separately. At a later stage, all sub-projects together could form something like a Next Generation Internet Server Platform.

To implement such a lot of high-quality Unix software components requires a great amount of time and man-power. So OSSP puts really a lot of private work on its idealistic developers, but nevertheless makes all of its results freely available to the interested public. Without sponsoring through donations from many individuals and companies all this would be not possible, of course.
