Description
Outdoor Sportsmens Television is dedicated to the fishermen, hunter and Outdoorsmen. We venture to new fishing and hunting locations all over North Carolina and North America. The Outdoor Sportsmens team consists of a select group of individuals with the knowledge, experience and leadership to deliver interesting and quality programming and videos.
I can remember my first fishing adventure at the age of eight. My dad being a Game Warden in New Hampshire, naturally knew all the good spots to catch fish. We set out in a canoe across a small pond. He had purchased a Zebco rod and reel and put on a red and white spoon and he explained to me how it should be fished. I remember waiting patiently for something to happen. After a long pause my line suddenly jerked. I had hooked my first fish! With some coaching from my dad I started reeling in the fish. As luck would be, I never saw that fish. I only remember the big swirl in the water as it got away - not to mention the excitement that I felt when I hooked it. I don't know how many fish I caught that day, but I knew I had the time of my life! Needless to say, I was hooked on fishing. In 1970, I attended New Hampshire Vocational Technical Institute and I earned a degree in Electronics. I then went into the electronics field in the service where I enhanced my knowledge even further. In 1974, I opened a small chain of electronics stores and service centers, which led me into the video and television field. Ultimately this led to a beginning in producing and editing TV programming in 1977. I decided to make a career out of the sport that I love and started producing hunting and fishing program for television. My dream of a life long career of fishing and hunting came true. I studied the angling concepts, techniques, products and language of the outdoor world. Hard work and dedication had paved the way for Outdoor Sportsmens Television.
I can still remember my first fishing experience. My husband (Jim) took me and my daughter fishing for the first time, needless to say, everyone caught fish but me. It took me three months to finally catch my first fish. I know everyone on the lake that day could have heard me -- I was so excited. My first fish was a pretty big fish it was a three pound Shell Cracker, I knew then I was "hooked" on this thing called Fishing. After that it seemed like I was addicted to fishing. Any spare time I had I would be on the lake fishing. Well after a year, my husband thought the time had come to graduate me to the next level. He taught me how to drive the boat. After a short time, I learned how to back the boat in the water and tie the boat to the pier and park the truck. The next thing my husband knew, I was taking the boat out on my own with my Dad heading to the lake.. A short time later, he began to teach me how to use the video camera. The basics were simple enough. He couldn't believe how quickly I learned. For the first month we had a good amount of nature shots. Now I am part of the Outdoor Sportsmens Television Camera Crew and the Media Director.
