Since 1995, Outside Music has been at the forefront of independent distribution in Canada. Outside Music markets and distributes some of the world’s best and most interesting labels. Our roster, which encompasses a wide variety of musical genres, includes international labels such as Domino, Sub Pop, Warp Records, Ninja Tune, !K7, Metropolis, Saddle Creek, Varese Sarabande, Six Degrees, and Yep Roc, to name a few.
In addition, Outside Music is actively involved in Canada’s vibrant independent scene, distributing the cream of Canada’s indie labels; among them, Indica for francophone rock, Mint Records, Three Gut Records and Teenage USA Recordings for indie rock, Urbnet featuring Canada’s best rappers, the incomparable Stuart Mclean and his Vinyl Café, and many more.
Apart from being a distributor, Outside is also a label. To date, Outside has released records from both established and emerging artists, most notably The Sadies, Billy Bragg, King Cobb Steelie, The Hidden Cameras and The Weekend.
