- OverclockersRIP started as a small site hosted by my ISP in the summer of 1996 as a guide to overclocking and building a Cyrix M1 "Pentium Killer" 166MHz CPU, taking it to a much faster 200MHz. It soon grew into a much better site with news and guides for case modding and eventually moved to a Tripod hosted site. I decided it was time for a real domain name and bought OverclockersRIP.com, which I used for two years before someone decided they wanted it more than I did and renewed it themselves the day it expired. Several other sites were hijacked by the same person, who bought the domains for spam advertising due to the traffic. Rather than pay the $2500 to buy my .com monkier back, I just changed the site to OverclockersRIP.net. Through many site design changes, it has finally ended up here. I'm sure this won't be the last, either. We've been through our highs and lows, with my attention being needed elsewhere at times.
