Paihia Duck is a brand new amphibious vehicle / vessel designed specifically for the tourist industry.
Our state-of-the-art amphibian allows us to pick people up curb-side and go in and out of the water using any boat launch ramp. It is capable of normal highway speeds on land, and around 6 knots on the water.
Built for the comfort and safety of our passengers, Paihia Duck seats up to 34 passengers, has a PA system, roll down windows and will accommodate any weather.
Paihia Duck is designed and built using the latest technology and safety standards making it more reliable and much safer than the old amphibious vehicles commonly used by tour operators in other countries. Those antiquated military crafts are the DukWs, Larks and Stalwarts. Paihia Duck is New Zealand Maritime Safety and LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority) approved and meets New Zealand Health and Safety Standards with OSH.
