Changing Picture of Adoption

Description

BUILDING AWARENESS AND OPENNESS

Since 1978, PACER, a unique nonprofit volunteer organization, has supported the concept that relinquishment and adoption are lifelong experiences for members of the adoption triad - the adoptee, adoptive family, the birthmother, birthfather, and siblings.

TOUCHING LIVES

An estimated 6 million Americans are adopted, and each one of them has two sets of families that are deeply affected. One third of the US population is touched by adoption, yet most are largely invisible. PACER is a triad support and advocacy organization committed to truth, openness and transformation of the adoption system and the laws that govern it.

ADVOCATES FOR CHANGE

In addition to serving triad members, PACER works to educate adoption professionals, counselors, social workers, physicians, educators, lawyers, clergy and media.
