About PacificPrawn.com

Spot prawns are the largest of the seven commercial species of shrimp in British Columbia (BC) waters. The BC spot prawn fishery began prior to 1914, but did not reach prominence until the late 1970’s. The fishery opens May 1st each year, and usually runs until July. During the off season, commercial prawn fishermen fund and conduct scientific research in conjunction with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO).
