Brook Edwards has been involved in the recycling/waste business for 20+ years. Brook grew up and attended school in Tipton, so he has a personal interest in, and loyalty to, the community where his first recycling facility was located. After completing his education at Indiana University he moved to Chicago where he lived for 14 years. He owned and operated a concrete crushing and trucking company for ten years in the Chicago area.
R eturning to Indiana Brook was Executive Director of Tipton County Solid Waste Management for 2 years. While holding this position he won the 1995 Governor's Award for Excellence in Recycling for a Solid Waste District. He formed Paper Trail, Inc. in 1995 and won the 1997 Governor's Award for Excellence in Recycling for an individual. He received the 1999 Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Tipton County Economic Development Corporation. From 1999 to 2004 he operated Paper Trail Recycling which specialized in both residential and commercial recycling. Brook is involved in numerous activities to further the recycling cause. He is a member of the National Recycling Coalition, Indiana Recycling Coalition, and the Kokomo Recycling Coalition. He has also served on many committees related to the recycling industry as well as elected offices of the groups he has belonged to.
