edit eQMS::LIMS
eQMS::LIMS is a flexible LIMS software -- Laboratory Information Management System -- that streamlines processes and data flows throughout an analytical, research or quality assurance laboratories.
eQMS::LIMS unifies diverse sets of biological, chemical or physical data collected across corresponding analytical laboratories into a unified central database. Assignments, data and job queues are presented through a browser based user interface, hence any personal computer equipped with Internet explorer can readily access the system. eQMS::LIMS relies on workflow engine that automates overall analytical processes -- from sample reception till analytical report or certificate generation. The system provides mechanisms to predefine analytical procedures depending on sample type, purpose of analysis, owner etc, still allowing controlled modification of procedures thus fitting well into both routine and one-of environment.
Data collected through eQMS::LIMS are accessible using comprehensive query facility - all analytical data are available in XML format or can be exported in XLS format for further analysis.
eQMS::LIMS is a role based LIMS where organization and organizational roles are mapped into the system. Depending on the user’s role, access to the data and LIMS functions are defined. eQMS::LIMS implements audit trail functionality thus allowing the organization to check what was changed, when, where, why, and by whom.
The key characteristics of eQMS::LIMS are:
- Increases productivity and improves quality.
- Cover the whole laboratory workflow, without need for paper steps.
- Provides complete traceability of every sample.
- Reduces the quantity of clerical and administration work.
- Provide flexible reporting functionality.
- Provide consistent, efficient and comfortable user interface (with lookups, query-by-example searches etc).
- User defined taxonomy
- Enables seamless integration with other IT systems (web services, XML, SOA).
- Standards based (supports 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 17025).
- Intuitive and rich GUI (web 2.0 - rich internet application)
- Fast learning curve LIMS
- Quick implementation
- Server installation only, no client-side software required
- Flexible organizational framework
- Scalable technology
- Users can take full control of the LIMS
- LIMS is deployable across entire enterprise
- External users can register samples into the LIMS, check status and obtain results over the Internet either directly or through company Internet or intranet portal
Thanks to its architecture eQMS::LIMS functions and data can be accessed through various channels such as PDAs and mobile phones thus offering platform for implementation of rapid alerting or critical control point monitoring applications in HACCP environments. eQMS::LIMS will also find its place in highly regulated environments and those that need to follow certain regulations such as RoHS / WEEE directive.
eQMS::LIMS is universal / cross industry LIMS and is implemented in various environments such as Public health institutes (PHI), oil & gas industry, food industry, water bottling and CSI forensic laboratories. For each of this enviroments eQMS::LIMS comes with predefined sets of sample types and analitical procedures thus enabling faster LIMS implementation.
eQMS::LIMS is completely web based LIMS / internet based LIMS build on open and WEB 2.0 architecture. eQMS::LIMS is using industry standards (SQL 99, Java J2EE 1.4 specification etc) enabling it to run on range of software and hardware platforms (JBoss, Oracle Application Server, IBM WebSphere, Oracle RDBMS, IBM DB2, Informix etc) thus allowing organizations to choose optimal platform for their environments. Thanks to its architecture adding new workstations is an easy task as there is no need for installing and configuring an application on local user machines.
edit eQMS::DNA
QMS::DNA is a system for maintenance and efficient searching of database of human genotypes for forensic purposes.
The type of polymorphisms and number of loci used for constructing genotypes is configurable, but typical installation will employ a standard set of 13 to 18 STR (short tandem repeat) loci.
The system maintains data on individual donors with optional personal and demographic data, multiple samples containing genetic material taken from the donor, and genotypes obtained from the samples, possibly using multiple techniques and identification kits. Both processed genotypes and optional additional data such as peak quality and confidence parameters and raw electroferograms can be kept. The system also keeps profiles of as yet unidentified traces.
Manual entry of data from plate gel electrophoresis is possible, but typical data source will be results from automated capillary electrophoresis sequencers.
eQMS::DNA database can contain not only full profiles (e.g. 13-loci CODIS standard), but also partial ones obtained using different identification kits. While searching it is possible to relax match criteria (e.g. specify one base pair identification error tolerance). All searches, including those using partial profiles and relaxed criteria are typically done in less than a second.
The searches can be performed interactively or in fully automatic mode. The system also supports mixed-stain searches with provisions for common contaminant identification (such as genotypes of laboratory or other forensic personnel).
The system computes probability of random match using either population statistics gathered from profiles already in the database, or known allele distribution data for a particular population. Arbitrary number of distribution sets can be kept (including historical distributions from the database, necessary for retests).
eQMS::DNA employs role-based access control with fine granularity (up to the attribute level). Full audit trail log is kept. The system adheres to CFR 21 part 11 recommendations.
