Hello and thank you for visiting my site. I'm a Northern California artist and am the proud pet parent of two dogs and a bird. I received my formal art education at the Academy of Art College (now called the Academy of Art University) in San Francisco. I draw most of my custom pet portraits from photographs. My fantasy art is created from studies of anatomy and my imagination.
Animals are my favorite subjects to draw. Pets are the most special to me, probably because my own pets are my children. Don't even get me started on my fur-kids, especially my miniature pinscher. He's certainly the most spoiled dog on the planet. No? Okay, well maybe yours comes in a close second. *wink* My favorite mediums are graphite pencil, colored pencil, and oil on canvas, though I also work in watercolors, acrylics, and pen & ink. My colored pencil work, the one I'm most often commissioned for, is usually drawn upon acid-free paper like Artagain or Stonehenge. A glossy coat is then either brushed or sprayed over the top. It's really a beautiful effect that can't be fully appreciated by looking at a photograph. In addition to custom commissions, I frequently have original art pieces on eBay. My eBay ID is pawtraitart.
Other than drawing, another passion of mine is helping Pet Rescue groups. I really admire the people who find loving, permanent homes for abandoned and unwanted animals. To this end, it is my mission to donate my artistic talents to assist in fundraising events for such organizations.
