Description

he Pentecostal Conference of North American Keralities (PCNAK) is a fellowship of Pentecostal believers of Keralite origin, meeting annually in various cities of North America for the purpose of mutual edification, fellowship and renewing friendships. PCNAK is the largest annual Asian Indian Christian conference in North America today.

Keralite Pentecostal community in North America has a history of over three decades. The first direct contact of Malayalee Pentecostals with American soil happened in 1947 - 1948. It is said that Pastors A. C. Samuel and C. Kunjummen of Assemblies of God came to USA in 1947. Pastor P. J. Thomas came to Wheaton College in Chicago in January, 1948. Later that year in May, Pastors. K. E. Abraham and K. C. Cherian arrived in USA during their third missionary trip to the west.

The major influx of immigrants came into this country started with the enactment of 1965 immigration act. A major shift happened in the immigration law in the early 80’s when majority of immigrants started arriving using family unification provision in the law. Pentecostals are currently considered the fastest growing group among the Keralite immigrants. Our congregations grew over the years and currently there are over 300 churches in USA and Canada. It will not be bragging if we say that ours is the largest ethnic Christian conference in North America.
