Coloured Horses are our speciality at Penstone Farm in Cheddar, Somerset. "Penstone" is a small working farm at the foot of the Mendip hills backing on to Cheddar Gorge in beautiful Somerset. During the week a small group of young adults with learning disabilities visit the farm. This enables them to ride and experience a variety of farm based activities.
"Penstone Coloureds" is a small stud of coloured horses based at the farm. We have a variety of traditional coloured horses selected for temperament for RDA work.
The majority of our horses are mares of traditional or TB x traditional type, who are given a break from their ridden work every third year to have a foal. We breed using a TB stallion with the mares to produce coloured youngstock with wonderful temperaments who are well handled and well mannered.
