Description
The Performance Shed opened its doors for business in 1987 by the husband and wife team of David and Kim Baker. But Yamaha was a part of both of their lives well before this time.
In 1967 the Yamaha dealership in the Kingston area was opened by Kim's parents, Ian and Shirley Bell. The dealership was located in Seeley's Bay, Ontario and was called Ian's Cycle. For the next seven years Ian and Shirley grew their business and in 1974 decided to relocate to the Kingston Area. They opened up shop on Hwy. 38 (now Midland Ave.) just north of Hwy. #2. There Ian's Cycle flourished.
Kim joined the family business in 1975 and worked in the parts and service department. In 1978 David Baker was hired as a mechanic.
