A 1969 graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ron attended Wake Forest University Law School, graduating Cum Laude in 1974. He served as a special editor of the Wake Forest Law Review from 1973 to 1974. From 1974 until 2000 Ron was a member of Staton, Perkinson, Doster, Post & Silverman in Sanford, North Carolina. In 1988, he was elected President of the Lee County Bar. His practice was concentrated in civil litigation.
